This captivating art form began in the historic city of Fez, where it flourished as a mesmerizing blend of 12th-century Moroccan calligraphy and 13th-century Marinid Arabesque design. Over time, this tradition spread to other cities, becoming an integral part of Moroccan artistic expression.
Our artisans are the keepers of this time-honored tradition. With patience, precision, and a deep understanding of their craft, they handcraft each piece using techniques refined over centuries. Using traditional tools such as chisels and hammers, the artisans hand-etch each pattern with remarkable precision. Once the carving is complete, the surface is polished to a radiant finish, and in some cases, a patina is applied to give it a timeless, antiqued look. Each creation is unique, with no two pieces ever being exactly alike.

A graduate of the world’s oldest university, Al-Qarawiyyin, Daryhf brings a contemporary sensibility to traditional Moroccan techniques. Under his guidance, our designs transcend mere decoration, becoming a celebration of Moroccan cultural identity and artistic evolution.
